Do I have options on what part of the program I sign up for?
Central CT Lawn Service is proud to offer a variety of services. You can meet with a company representative to customize what products and applications best meet your lawn care needs.
How will I know my property has been serviced?
Your technician will leave a flag at the edge of the front lawn and leave an invoice detailing your service at the door. If for some reason, you do not want us to service your lawn on a particular day, please let us know and we would be happy to work with your schedule.
How long should I stay off the lawn after an application?
We recommend one hour or until the application is dry. Most applications use dry materials. If you have weed control sprayed, it can dry in as little as 10 minutes.
Is it okay for my pet to go outside after an application?
To be on the safe side, we recommend that they stay inside for one hour or until the application is dry. Most applications use dry materials. If you have weed control sprayed, it can dry in as little as 10 minutes.
What if it rains after an application is applied?
Usually rain will not affect fertilizer or other applications and in fact will help the product work better. If weed control is applied with the application it will be reapplied after 14 days if weeds do not die.
If problems arise in between applications do you come back?
Our commitment to you is that you will always be happy with your lawn and our service. If any problems arise, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 860-829-2306. Service calls are free of charge with a full program.
Can I mow my lawn after a treatment has been applied?
Most treatments are not affected by lawn mowing (even vacuum type mowers won't remove fertilizer pellets). After an application, you should always try to mulch the clippings for the first couple of mowings to recycle valuable nutrients.
Should I collect mowed grass clippings?
Grass clippings are mostly water and nutrients. Whenever possible, leave grass clippings on the lawn, since they recycle valuable nutrients to the soil as they decompose. If possible, a mulching mower blade is best for mowing your lawn because it recycles the nutrients.
Is there anything that I need to do to my lawn after an application?
This depends on what service was applied to your lawn. Your technician will leave you an invoice that includes important instructions after each treatment. If you have any further questions after this, please don’t hesitate to call us at 860-829-2306.
I can't water my lawn during the summer. How will that impact the treatment schedule?
Unfortunately, during the hot, dry summer months, many homeowners face the problem of not being able to water their lawns. Typically, your lawn will enter a dormant period during a drought. During this time, you should limit the amount of foot traffic on the lawn, and mowing frequency should be reduced (or if possible, do not mow at all). When you do mow the lawn, you should plan to mow it as the highest possible setting to keep from burning the lawn. The extra grass blades will insulate the soil, keeping it cooler. Slow release summer fertilizer will help your lawn recover from drought dormancy when cooler, rainier weather returns. During this time, we will also inspect the lawn for damaging insects and/or diseases.
Do moles eat grubs? What can I do to keep them from destroying my yard?
Yes, however their main source of food is earthworms and other insects. Unfortunately, you will need to contact an exterminator to get rid of moles directly.
Moss has taken over my lawn, what can I do?
Moss is a sign that a situation is not conducive to growing grass. This could be for a variety of reasons including too much shade, low fertility, high acidity, soggy soil, etc. Our program can address problems with fertility and acidity, but sometimes other measures need to be taken to make a situation more favorable to growing grass.
There are so many ants in my yard, and now they are coming into the house. Can you help?
Yes, we do offer a general insect control, which will treat ants in the lawn areas. We also offer a foundation pest control, to set up a barrier along your house’s foundation.
